If you have kids, Venice offers exciting things for them to see as well. Thought it can be pricey, a ride in the gondola is like a water park ride stretched out to a leisurely pace with architectural delights which looks like a giant diorama to children. On the Island of Murano there is an old Romanesque church called Santi Maria e Donato church which reputedly houses the remains of a dragon killed by St. Donato. After looking at the famous glassworks of Murano visit the church and recite this story to the kids who are held spellbound by the tale of the Christian saint slaying the dragon.
