Some hotels are known for the fine dining restaurant experiences they provide. Others are known for their amazing guest services and comfortable accommodations. Still others are known for their magnificent spas. While all of these key elements contribute to stellar hotel experiences, there is one point that is often overlooked - the hotel pool.

Some hotels are known simply because of their incredible pool accommodations.

1. Korakia Pensione

Despite its sleek and sexy Mediterranean name, the Korakia Pensione hotel is actually located in the easily accessible Palm Springs, California. The 22-room hotel spans two quaint villas and features two unique and artistically designed pools. The first is shaped like a tear drop and the second has no defined edges, simply allowing the water to wash over the stones that were laid to create the illusion of a Mediterranean beach experience -you’ll almost believe you’re there!

4. Hyatt Regency Kauai Resort & Spa

Why venture away from resort property when you can enjoy both fresh and saltwater entertainment right at the Grand Hayatt Kauai? The resort features a freshwater river so that you can leisurely float around the resort, stopping off at any swimming pools or lounging decks you choose along the way. In some pools you’ll find swimmers and gamers while in another you’ll find children enjoying the water slide. Looking for something a little more active? Visit the saltwater lagoons to relax, kayak, or take a diving and snorkeling lesson!

5. Standard Hotel

The Standard Hotel Pool

The Standard Hotel, located in Hollywood, California, is anything but standard. Owned by stars Cameron Diaz, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Andre Balaza, the pool looks like any other pool, but it’s the experience that sets it apart from the rest. Nowhere else will you have to walk across a deep blue Astroturf field in order to get to the pool. Once there, either relax in the waters or take a few minutes to watch the stars (in the sky AND down on the streets) through the surrounding telescopes.

6. Peninsula Hotel Pool and Spa

The Peninsula is seated deep within the heart of Manhattan, on the roof of one of New York’s finest establishments. Tired of the hustle and bustle on the streets below? Grab a towel and find your way to the hotel pool for a serene and secluded experience you won’t find anywhere else in the city.

7. Raleigh Hotel

Raleigh Hotel Pool

The Raleigh Hotel, located in Miami, Florida, is quite possibly one of the most famous pools you’ll ever encounter. It’s been featured in a number of movies and television shows. The pool is separated from the rest of the hotel by lines of trees and includes. Shaped to resemble a lagoon, there is a small standing shelf for those who wish to feel the rush of the pool’s refreshing waterfall. Stop at the poolside bar for a cool beverage or a bite to eat, or head on over to The Oasis to relax between the pool area and the beach.

8. Beverly Hills Hotel

Beverly Hills Hotel Pool

The Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills, California was once a popular destination for famous actors and actresses. Now, those who wish they were famous lounge poolside while imagining what it would be like to meet an old great and hoping to catch a glimpse of one of today’s hottest stars. The pool, lined with palm trees and surrounded by the hotel gardens, is the perfect place to relax - and if you’d prefer some privacy, simply reserve a poolside cabana.

9. Caesar’s Palace

Caesar\'s Palace Pool

A visit to the pools at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas will leave you feeling as if you’re really in Rome. The Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis is built to resemble the healing public baths that the Roman’s once enjoyed. The five pools, their accompanying bars and cabanas, and the whirlpools span over an area of 4.5 acres. You may never make it to Rome, but that doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself like a God or Goddess.

10. Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge and Pool

Glenwood Hot Springs Pool

I don’t think you’ll find another pool as large as the one at the Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The main pool is over two blocks long, is open year round, and is always heated to a tepid 90 degrees. After a long day of skiing, relax by swimming a few laps or head on over to the therapy pool where you can soak in 104 degree waters instead. There’s enough space for everyone, so dive on in!

No matter which resort you visit, you’re guaranteed a relaxing and luxurious pool experience. Don’t forget to pack your bathing suit!
