Welcome to part 2 of our Once in a Lifetime Tours series. In the first part of this series we explored some of the incredible tours available in the Western hemisphere. We hiked, biked, cruised on freighters, went diving, and relaxed on the rail lines.

What about the Eastern world? If you’d prefer to travel a bit further from home, there are dozens of equally enthralling tour opportunities to the east, giving you the opportunity to see more of the world than you ever thought you might!

Join us as we embark once again on our trip around the world. Our top five tours of the Eastern world are sure to delight any audience!

Exclusively Yours Egypt

Pyramids in Egypt

Do you hate the hustle and bustle of large crowds and noisy tour groups? African Travel Inc. has designed the perfect solution in Exclusively Yours Egypt! In this tour, you and your party will be assigned a personal escort who will travel with you to each and every destination you choose to visit.

Your escort will provide knowledge and insight while allowing you the freedom to linger within or leave any attraction at your leisure. You’ll cruise the Nile, visit the pyramids, dine in the home of an Egyptian family, and visit the Temples of Ramses II and Nefertari.

Nile Cruise

The 11-day tour includes 5 days of cruising on the Nile River on the Sonesta Star Goddess, as well as luxurious accommodations in Cairo and Luxor. You’ll leave Egypt feeling as though you’ve had a personal experience that you’ll always remember!

Family India

Taj Mahal in India

Family India, presented by Greaves Group Tours, is an incredible 15-day adventure designed to accommodate travelers of all ages. The family-friendly tour will begin in Delhi, the capital city of India, and move across the country to the Taj Mahal, Shimla, Jaipur, and more!

In Jaipur, you’ll experience the excitement of a village festival, complete with camel and elephant rides, turban and sari tying lessons, and incredible cuisine. You’ll also have the opportunity to picnic at “The Peak” in Shimla, tour the Himalayas by train, and simply relax at your Oberoi hotel spa or pool.

India has a vast amount of culture and diversity to share with any and all who visit. You’ll have the opportunity to mingle with other travelers and visit local families as well. Your trip to India will be one that your children talk about for years to come!

Food Lovers Japan

Sushi

Hosted by Intrepid Travel, Food Lovers Japan is an incredible 14-day tour designed specifically for those who love exploring ethnic foods and cultures. Japan is home to some of the most exotic cuisines in the world. While you’ll experience all that Japan has to offer, this tour really revolves around the different flavors you’ll find throughout the country.

Your tour group will be limited to 12 guests and will include 13 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and 7 dinners. You’re on your own for the other meals, but you’ll have no problem finding a local eatery where you can enjoy tempura, sushi, or another traditional treat.

You’ll stay in traditional inns, regular hotels, and even spend two nights in monasteries. Meditation, culture, and cooking school are all on the menu! Come hungry and prepare to be amazed!

Russia and Mongolia Overland

Kazakhstan

The folks at Dragoman Overland will happily guide you through Asia as you participate in the 11-week (yup, week) Russia and Mongolia Overland tour. You’ll start off in St. Petersburg and end up in Beijing, with stops along the way in Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and China.

This trip is not for the light of heart. Your accommodations will vary, including time in tents, hostels, guesthouses, Yurts, and a few 3-star hotels. You’ll meet Mongolian horsemen and, depending on the time you arrive, travel on roads that may or may not be passable.

There are dozens of additional optional stops you can make along the way. You might opt to experience Russian Culture by visiting the Ballet in St. Petersburg, visit the Kremlin Entrance, or ride camels in the Gobi Desert. The sky is the limit!

Explorers Safari, Tanzania

Sunset over the Serengeti

Thompson Safaris will gladly escort true explorers on a 14-day and 11-night adventure safari through the wilderness of Tanzania. On your second day of travel you’ll arrive at the Kilimanjaro Airport and be transported to Arusha. From there you’ll fly to Wasso where the real safari adventure will begin in the Enashiva Nature Reserve.

You’ll enjoy foot tours, night game drives, and local culture. You may opt to take a hot-air balloon excursion, guaranteed to give you an incredible view of the Serengeti before you move on to Ngorongoro Crater, Maasailand, and the Great Rift Valley.

You’ll also have ample opportunity to explore on your own and shop in local stores. There’s no shortage of wildlife in Tanzania, but you’ll need to book early as this tour only runs three times per year!

As you can see, there is no shortage of adventure around the globe. You are sure to find a trip or tour to suit your interests and needs no matter where you are from or where you want to end up. Choose carefully and make sure you’re visiting a place you are truly interested in seeing – these are, after all, once in a lifetime opportunities!
