Perhaps you were born with a full bank account, won the lottery, received a court settlement, or found a few million dollars in a paper bag on the street. Regardless of how you obtained your cash, you are probably itching to spend it while at the same time mingling with others of similar financial stature. There are plenty of places around the world that cater only to those with more than a few extra dollars to spare. We’ve put together a list of our 7 favorite posh hangouts for millionaires - just in case you aren’t able to hire a planner to find them for you!

1. Positano

Positano

Positano, located along the Amalfi Coast of Italy, has long been a favorite destination for all sorts of popular and successful guests. The quaint little town is full of lavish restaurants, expensive and fashionable boutiques, and beautiful gardens. The most luxurious hotel in the area is the La Sirenuse, full of antiques and artifacts left to amuse, entertain, and inspire guests. There’s nothing to do but relax in Positano. Looking for something different to do? Charter the boat owned by the hotel and take it out into the bay to swim, fish, or simply explore.

2. Les Trois Glorieuses

Beaune Wine Tasting

Les Trois Glorieuses is actually a three-day wine festival held in Beaune, France in November of every year. The festival itself is a charity event to sponsor the Hospices of Beaune, but has the esteem of being the event that officially opens the Burgandy wine season as well. Stay in a quaint Beaune hotel, and stop by any of the area’s wine cellars during the festivals for stellar wine tastings, or simply wait until Sunday for the auction itself. Remember, the money you pay is going to support a wonderful cause.

3. Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons

Le Manoir

Le Manoir aus Quat’ Saisons is an elegant 15th-century manor that lies on 27 acres of land in Great Milton, England. The manor contains almost 20 rooms along with 13 larger suites. Each one was designed by some of the most popular designers of our time, including Emily Todhunter, Trevillion, and Michael Priest. Every suite boasts a different atmosphere. Want a massage, body wrap, or otherwise luxurious spa treatment? The staff of the manor will come straight to your room. The restaurant is run by Michelin star chef, Gary Jones, who partnered with Raymond Blanc as executive chef in 1999. The cuisine is finer than you’ll find anywhere else - especially considering most of the vegetables and herbs come straight from the manor’s own 2-acre kitchen garden.

4. Cannes Film Festival

Cannes Film Festival

The Cannes Film Festival is held each year in Cannes, France. While we’d like to believe that the festival focuses on cinematic art, you’ll find that the media is just as concerned with the celebrities and wealthy attendees, what they’re wearing, where they’re going to party, and with whom. Home of the original red carpet, the Cannes Film Festival celebrated its 61st year in June of 2008. Start planning now and you may be able to make it in time for the 2009 festival, to be held on May 13th and 14th.

5. Cotton House Resort

Cotton House Beach on Mustique

Located on Mustique Island in St. Vincent in the West Indies, the Cotton House Resort is most popular for having a pillow menu from which guests can choose the type of pillow they’d like to use while lying on their Egyptian cotton sheets at night. If that’s not lavish enough for you, the staff is willing to unpack your belongings and iron those that are sure to have crumpled on the plane ride in. The island can only be reached by private plane or commuter jet. After relaxing on the beach with a book, consider taking a swim or dive. The resort has its own scuba course, designed specifically for beginners, a spa, beautiful porches and terraces. No matter where your room is located, you’ll have a spectacular view.

6. Bucks’s Restaurant

Bucks of Woodside

Buck’s Restaurant is located in Woodside, California. While it may not take much to pay your breakfast tab, the diner is famous for being the location where dozens of major business transactions have taken place, specifically in the field of information technology. It’s is said that the deal that started Netscape was made in Buck’s. If you’re looking to become a millionaire, make sure your next meeting with investors is held at this special diner.

7. Delano Hotel

Delano Pool

The Delano Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida may be smack in the middle of one of the largest cities in the state, but you’d never know it while you are there. Once you’re inside, you’ll never have to leave, as this self-contained hotel has everything you need. From lushly decorated guest rooms, to private beaches and pools, the Delano is also home to the Blue Door Restaurant, promising some of the finest cuisine you’ll find in Florida. For fun, check out the life-size chess set by the pool or simply relax in one of pool areas bungalows or hammocks. It’s calming, relaxing, and quiet.

With the exception of Buck’s Diner, you’re going to pay for your experience, but enjoy it nonetheless. Take advantage of what so many others wish they could have - privacy, peace of mind, and a stress free hangout destination.
