These look like lovely lighthouses, but don't forget the Great Lakes lighthouses. There are plenty of wonderfully picturesque lights to visit along the inland lakes.

Two that immediately pop into my mind:

One of my favorites over the years is the Point Betsie Lighthouse in Frankfort, MI on Lake Michigan. The Friends site claims the light as the second most photographed light in the US http://www.pointbetsie.org/lighthouse.html

Split Rock Lighthouse near Two Harbors in northern Minnesota is a striking site with the cream-yellow light perched high on a cliff overlooking Lake Superior. That state's Department of Natural Resources and Historical Society claim Split Rock as one of the most photographed lighthouses in the country.

There are plenty more Great Lakes lights I've visited and loved...Ohio's Marblehead on Lake Erie; the bright red light tower and range lights at Grand Haven, MI on Lake Michigan; Big Sable Point in Ludington (MI) on Lake Michigan--where I recently hiked out to on a winter afternoon to take pictures...

Great list of lighthouses. I have always wanted to take a trip down each coast and take photos of the ones I came across. Of course this is on my list of many things I want to do once my daughter heads off to college.
