In Adelaide you’ll have the opportunity to sip fine wines, dine in extraordinary restaurants, or relax on Kangaroo Island. Looking for more adventure? Try visiting the Outback to find out what it was like to live as an opal miner – underground. Adelaide may not be the most talked about city in Australia but it is certainly one of the most extraordinary.

When to Visit Adelaide

It’s easier to start by mentioning when not to visit Adelaide. It’s best to avoid touring the area during the summer months. The heat in Southern Australia is unbearable and the area receives very little rain compared to most other capital cities. Fears of fire often render walking tracks impassable as well.

The best time to visit Adelaide is during the spring, fall, and winter months. The temperatures during these times of year are much more bearable and even the winter months are relatively warm. The only fears you should have during the winter months are heavy rains, some of which cause additional temporary road closures.

Australian Wines in Adelaide

The wines produced in Australia certainly deserve a better reputation than they already have – which is to say that they’re virtually unknown to those outside of the region. Some incredibly notable red wines, including All Saints Classic Rutherglen Tokay and Bailey’s Old Muscat are made in Australian wineries, as are some of the most refreshing sparkling burgundies you’ll ever taste.
