In the world of geographic designations, there are some strange clubs. Like NATO or OPEC, they gather in beautiful locations to confer on stange and mysterious business. Their purposes may be a little more obscure and much less important but hey, they still do good work. Take the most beautiful bays in the world for example.

Believe it or not, there is an actual international organization whose members are bays. Beautiful bays. Bays all over the world. Every year the NGO has a powwow somewhere to presumably talk about bay concerns, bay matters and all sorts of topics that have to do with bays. It boggles the mind really. To think that a collection of water with land on three sides would draw so much inherent interest and discussion is cause for alarm.

Chiavari

Another spot in a littany of towns that dot the coast with a picturesque harbour and waterfront, Chiavari is home to just under 30,000 people. A backdrop of lush mountains and the Entella River makes the town a superb natural escape. On the weekends Chiavari comes alive with two distinct markets that offer wonderful local produce and antiques and a number of outdoor musical concerts.

Almost every major city in the world is home to at least one or two major museums. Some are dedicated to science and history, while others are dedicated to art and culture. Each has a collection of artifacts or exhibits sure to educate or amaze each and every visitor who happens to pass through.

On the other hand, there are a handful of museums that house collections of items we wouldn’t expect to see in one place. Most of these bizarre museums started out as personal collections and involved into monstrosities that pique the curiosity of travelers from all over the world. We can only hope you appreciate these questionable destinations as much as we did!

The HyperSonic XLC, in Paramount’s Kings Dominion park in Doswell, Virginia, was the very first coaster in the world to be launched with compressed air. Traveling at an incredible rate of speed, the coaster can launch from 0 to 80 miles per hour in a mere 1.8 seconds. Even more incredible is the special shock system used to build the coaster; so not only will you climb to great heights and fall at impressive speeds, but you’ll barely feel a bump along the ride!
